How do I find the chart number I need?
View the online chart catalog which lists all of our products. With few exceptions if it is not in the catalog, it is likely out of print.

How do I place an order?
After determining which products you would like to order, select the chart/product from the drop down menu and click "Add to Cart". If you prefer to pay by money order or check, please send an email to charts@discountnautical.com.  We will respond shortly with confirmation and payment instructions.

What size is a nautical chart?
On average a nautical chart is approx. 36" x 30" (some are as large as 46" x 30" and some as small as 24" x 24").

Does DiscountNautical ship to foreign addresses?
Yes, DiscountNautical can ship to most countries; however, some charts have export restrictions. Please contact us for a quote and shipping options. Shipments are FOB Venice/North Port, FL.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Depending upon availability, on average, you should receive your order in 7-10 business days depending on your location and choice of shipping. Most items can be expedited for an additional charge if you need product to meet a time deadline. Below are all the available shipping options with delivery estimates*:

FedEx Ground 8-13 business days
USPS Priority Mail 5-8 business days
RUSH 1-3 business days
Global Priority (charts folded in envelope) 12-18 business days
Worldwide Shipping (charts rolled in tube) 8-15 business days

*Please note: DiscountNautical is unable to guarantee delivery dates except for RUSH DELIVERY. We are not responsible for shipping delays due to acts of God, weather delays, or other types of delays (e.g. carrier problems). If you are working on a tight timetable, we recommend RUSH DELIVERY.  

How do I expedite my order?
Choose the "RUSH DELIVERY" shipping option during the checkout process. You should confirm this via email with us and provide specific details.

Can I pay for my purchase by credit card?
Yes. For fast processing of your order, pay by clicking on the "Add to Cart" button. Your payment will be processed through PayPal.com on a secure server. All electronic payments must originate from the PayPal shopping cart unless special arrangements have been made.

What is your return policy?
All sales are final. This is due to NOAA policies and this no-return policy also helps to keep costs down and provide you with the best available pricing for navigational and charting publications and products. Please note this policy is strictly enforced as we can not resell product. Be sure you select the appropriate shipping if you have deadlines to avoid receiving products too late (we have no control over shipping problems, acts of God, and/or carrier delays (as noted above) hence there is no-return on late items -- chose RUSH shipping which is the only way to guarantee delivery to meet an urgent time deadline). The only exception is some marine electronics may be returnable if allowed by the manufacturer. Said marine electronics must be unopened and in resalable condition. RMA is required, a restocking fee of 10-25% is applicable depending on the item, and subject to approval by the manufacturer.

How are charts shipped?
Charts will be packaged for shipment in a way that preserves their original format. Rolled paper nautical charts will be rolled in a tube for shipment in the US. Folded charts are mailed in the appropriate sized envelope. The exception is for international shipments, charts will normally be folded; however, tube shipment is available by special request (additional fees apply). Items ship by USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Ground depending on your selection made at checkout. Items that are over-sized or require special handling may be shipped by Federal Express, UPS, USPS Parcel Post or Media Mail at our discretion.

What if my chart arrives damaged?
DiscountNautical ships most charts with a very low occurrence of damage; however, the occasional shipment does get damaged while in transit. If shipping by USPS Priority Mail, we recommend spending the extra dollar for insurance so your risks are covered. No additional charges are required for FedEx and UPS Ground shipments as insurance is included. DiscountNautical is unable to assume responsibility for damages during shipping by USPS, FedEx or UPS. All shipments are FOB Venice/North Port, FL. If your order arrives damaged, insurance is the only way to cover your loss.

In the unlikely event your order has been damaged in shipping, please save all packaging materials and contents, and submit claims electronically by selecting the one of the following links below:

  • USPS online claims
  • FedEx online claims

    Generally claims are paid within 1-2 weeks. You may resubmit your order through the online shopping cart at any time if you wish to order replacements for the damaged chart(s) although you may want to wait until you have received reimbursement.
